Tracy Sweetland began her real estate career after more than 25 years in the restaurant industry, where she served in various leadership roles with Darden Restaurants.
A native of Fort Walton Beach, Tracy decided to make a career change in 2005. A family friend who owned a brokerage in the area suggested she consider selling real estate. She promptly got her license and began learning the ins and outs of the business, from short sales and VA loans to helping first-time homebuyers.
Tracy worked to educate herself on her new profession, with each and every transaction along with training opportunities. She got involved in builder development services, working with builders and managing brand new developments, a role she still holds today and has for years. She joined Scenic Sotheby's International Realty in 2020.
Real estate is the perfect combination for Tracy, who enjoys homes and decorating on a personal level, along with the challenges that come from matching someone to the property of their dreams. She considers herself a good listener and is willing to invest in a property to market it in the best possible way. She pays special attention to things like educating buyers on location and community amenities, coupling that with her understanding of the construction process, necessary repairs and homeowner’s associations for clients from Destin to Santa Rosa Beach.
Tracy volunteers with Fore Her, a nonprofit organization that helps breast cancer patients pay for necessities that insurance does not cover. She is also active in supporting Shelter House Inc. and Children in Crisis.
In her free time, you might find Tracy on a boat, her “happy place.” She had gone on deep sea fishing adventures to Alaska and Costa Rica. She enjoys cars and the movie “Pretty Woman.” At home, she tends to a saltwater aquarium, and she still enjoys a good fettuccine alfredo.
